Vor wenigen Tagen wurden erste Updates beimm SHOUTcast Radio Widget vorgenommen.

Nachdem die User immer mehr gefordert haben, dass man seine Favoriten speichern möchte, hat das SHOUTcast Dev Team dies nun umgesetzt. Das Widget merkt sich nun ebenfalls, welchen Sender man zuletzt gehört hat.

Steps to set a station as the default on your widget

* 1. Play your favorite station in the widget
* 2. Click “Copy Me” to get the widget code or embed it on the social networking & other supported platforms
* 3. Add the widget to your page/blog. That’s it!

Additionally, the widget also includes the following features:

* Remembers Your Settings – If you come across a page with the widget and you listen to a specific station and leave the widget, returning to the widget will play the last station you listened to. The widget will also display your last search query, last genre you browsed and your volume preferences

* Customize Your Favorites – Now customize the order of your favorite stations.
* Pop the Widget to a New Window – Pop the widget as a new window on your desktop and continue browsing the web while you listen to your favorite station.

To grab the widget for your own use, click the “Copy Me” button on the upper right hand corner of the widget below.

Erfreuliche Neuigkeiten gibt es auch für das SHOUTcast App für das iPhone und den iPod touch: In mittlerweile 6 Ländern ist die App schon das am meisten heruntergeladene App im Bereich “Musik”. Deutschland, Finnland, Griechenland, Niederlande, Portugal und Spanien sind wohl große SHOUTcast Fans.

Seit Anfang des Jahres gibt es im App Store von Apple nun auch das SHOUTcast Radio App für das iPhone und den iPod touch.

Stolze Besitzer des iPhone oder iPod touch können nun auch unterwegs die SHOUTcast Radios hören. Derzeit gibt es über 25.000 verschiedene Sender in der offiziellen Datenbank von SHOUTcast, weshalb eigentlich für jeden was dabei sein müsste.

Die App könnt ihr euch kostenlos im App Store herunterladen. Sucht einfach nach “SHOUTcast” und ihr werdet sofort fündig. Das App sieht ähnlich wie das SHOUTcast Radio Widget aus.

Ich habe leider weder ein iPhone, noch ein iPod touch, daher falls jemand von euch so ein Gerät hat, kann er ja mal schreiben, wie er das App findet. Eventuelle Verbesserungsvorschläge gebe ich dann direkt weiter an das SHOUTcast Team.

Vor wenigen Tagen hat ‘Tag eine neue BETA Version zum Download angeboten. Diese wird zwar derzeit noch nicht von SHOUTcast.com direkt verlinkt, kann aber schon getestet werden.

Es geht um die SHOUTcast Server Version 1.9.9beta, welche derzeit eigentlich nur 2 kleine Änderungen beinhaltet, dennoch aber sinnvoll ist.

Wer in Zukunft mit dem iPhone oder iTouch einen SHOUTcast Stream hören möchte, muss mindestens die Version SHOUTcast 1.9.9beta installiert haben, damit das problemlos funktioniert.

Es gibt zwar derzeit auch noch eine andere Alternative von einem unbekannten Anbieter, aber darauf wollen wir nicht weiter eingehen. Dieser sucht sich nämlich nur ein paar Radios aus, die mit dem iPhone zu hören sind und möchte sich zudem daran bereichern. Aber wozu sowas, wenn es das bei SHOUTcast kostenlos gibt?
